POSTER GALLERY
How do rights and freedoms look to a child? A poster competition held among school-aged children shows just that. The competition saw children from seven countries draw what rights and freedoms covered by the two covenants looked like to them.
The contest was in two phases. In the first phase, UN Human Rights Offices, along with other UN Agencies, held local contests and selected winning primary (5-11) and secondary (12-18) age winners. In the second phase, these local winners were sent to Human Rights headquarters in Geneva where a panel selected the overall primary and secondary winners. The two winning drawings will be turned into posters, available for download soon. But all the contestants deserve praise. Through the eyes of the young, freedom and rights can look new.
